Download FREE Survivorship Webinar: Komen Maryland is pleased to collaborate with the Breast Cancer Program at The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins to provide the "Tools for Survivorship: Thriving After Breast Cancer Treatment" Webinar. This FREE program provided a webinar with Q&A to educate breast cancer survivors, co-survivors, families and caregivers about long-term survivorship and thriving after treatment.

The Blood and Guts Run - Wildest 5k Zombie Obstacle Course (www.bloodandgutsrun.com)will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Bull Run Special Events Center in Centreville, VA 20121. The run is designed for all ages and ability levels. Participants will receive a finisher medal and a custom-made Blood and Guts Run t-shirt.

Capitol Clothing Recycling: Now you can donate your clothes to help breast cancer survivors in Maryland. Look for the Clothing for the Cure logo on specially marked parking lot bins throughout the region. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of clothing donated will be contributed to Komen Maryland. A minimum of $10,000 will be donated to Komen Maryland each year through this program. To locate a Clothing for the Cure bin closest to your neighborhood, visit their website or email Capitol Clothing Recyclers, LLC.

Car for a Cure: For the month of October, Tisher Acura Nissan will be donating $100 of every new car sold and hosting a community outreach on October 25th at their dealership to promote the importance of breast health and early detection. Girls with Guitars
For the fourth year, 93.1 WPOC and Russel Toyotal present "Girls with Guitars"at the Hippodrome Theater on Saturday, November 1st to benefit Komen Maryland. Featured this year are Jana Kramer, Raelynn, Maddie & Tae, Kelsea Ballerini and a special performance by Sara Evans. $5.00 of every ticket sold will be donated to Komen Maryland. "A Letter to My Friend" was written by Leslie Toney, Albert Westbrook and David Stallings. The song is dedicated to Lucretia Westbrook, who lost her battle with breast cancer. A donation will be made for each song purchase. Purchase your copy of the song here.

Please attend Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Theta Nu Chapter's 1st Annual Kouture for a Kure Fashion show, on Friday, October 24th at 6 p.m. Kouture for a Kure is a philanthropic event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month which will highlight local designers, models, makeup artists and stylists while raising money for Komen Maryland. Experience the powerful and uplifting atmosphere at the University of Maryland, College Park as they celebrate men and women who have flourished despite their obstacles. In addition, they honor passionate and committed people and organizations for their inspirational stories and tireless efforts to help others navigate the crisis of breast cancer.
