The contest to crown "Ms. Preakness Pink Warrior" honors those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer, and is open to breast cancer survivors and individuals who have made a difference in the lives of anyone fighting breast cancer. “Pink Warrior” is written and performed by Candy Coburn. The winner will be chosen, in-part, through an on-line & interactive process featuring the contestants’ own stories. Essays will be posted here once the contest begins.

The annual “Down the Stretch for SGK” Preakness 5k run/walk, organized by Corrigan Sports, will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Runners circle the iconic track at Pimlico and run past the historic stable area.
