Ride Across Maryland saw a police escorted entrance for “Team Outback” into the Columbia Mall parking lot from the Glen Burnie restaurant! They had an amazing 246 team members and raised almost $75,000!!! Their efforts and all of those who contributed and enjoyed the ride are sincerely appreciated as a grand total of $225,000 was raised in the fight against breast cancer. RAM has contributed close to $1.5 million dollars to Komen Maryland in the past 8 years achieving a feat no other third party event in the country has ever reached...donating over a MILLION dollars! Congrats also to the winner of the new Victory motorcycle that can be ridden in its first ride next year! Thanks to all the volunteers, staff, participants and especially the entertainers who made this such a successful and enjoyable weekend. See you in 2009… Find out more about RAM.

Art for Cure is a new Maryland-based non-profit organization co-founded founded by longtime friends of the affiliate Jennifer Patrizio, Bob Stockfield, and Jennifer Tisch. They are dedicated to enabling survivors of life-threatening disease to use their art and creativity to give back to organizations like Komen Maryland that are making advances towards cures.

Grants
Komen Maryland is pleased to announce its request for proposals for the 2009-2010 grant cycle. Grants will be made to support efforts to reduce breast cancer disparities across Maryland.
Download the complete Request For Proposal (RFP) with eligibility criteria and online submission instructions. Applications must be completed and submitted online by Monday, November 3, 2008 at 5pm.

Komen has released a first-ever State of Breast Cancer report outlining progress that has been made and remaining challenges in the fight against breast cancer. This is an understandable and up-to-date overview on the status of breast cancer in the world.
On September 17, 2007 Komen Maryland hosted "Strategies for Working with the Migrant Worker Population and Breast & Cervical Cancer."
The Cultural Competency Training was held at Caroline County Health Department in Denton, Maryland.
