Volunteers… the heartbeat of Susan G. Komen for the Cure
We are tickled pink that you are interested in volunteering with Komen Maryland!
You've most likely had the privilege of meeting a member of Komen Maryland many times and didn't even know it! Our inspiring and committed affiliate is made up of six paid staff and nearly 1,000 volunteers!
Just as cancer does not stop for rain, Race for the Cure is rain or shine.
Free parking will be provided on a first come basis for registered volunteers at the volunteer lot - located at the intersection of Shawan Road and International Drive, directly across the street from the Executive Plaza complex, starting at 5:00 a.m. There will also be additional parking along International Circle. Carpooling is encouraged. Please keep in mind that streets along the race course will be closed starting around 6:00 a.m., so you will need to plan your route accordingly.
There are several ways to get to the volunteer parking lot on race day:
If you are coming across Shawan Rd from the West, or are getting off 83 South via exit B, you will get over into the extreme left lane (across from the Marriott), and make the left turn on International Drive. The parking lot will be on the right.
If you are traveling south on York Rd, take McCormick Rd (behind the Hunt Valley Towne Centre) around the back of the mall and turn right onto International Circle at the traffic light. You will then make the first left onto International Drive and the parking lot will be on the left.
If you are traveling north up route 83, take the Shawan Rd – Exit A and make a left turn at the first traffic light onto McCormick Rd. Make the next left onto International Circle. Make the first left onto International Drive. The volunteer parking lot will be on your left.
