Community Grant Programs
Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stay in Maryland and fund local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent funds national breast cancer research through Komen National Headquarters, often taking place at Maryland institutions.

About our Grant Partners
2011-2012 Grant Partners
The Komen Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® awarded nearly $2.5 million to 29 grant programs across the state of Maryland on April 1, 2011. An awards breakfast was held to honor the grantees.

Our local grant partners provide direct and supportive breast health services including:

free mammograms and clinical breast exams

support groups and mentoring breast cancer survivors

meals delivered to women undergoing treatment and their families

outreach workers for the Hispanic, Korean and African American communities

free mental health and counseling for women and their families

and much more!
Komen Maryland also funds five CTE (Clinical Trial Enrollment) grants to encourage local participation in clinical trials, particularly among minority women.
Additionally, we are continuing to fund our innovative Komen Maryland Affiliate Nursing Partnership: Advancing Education and Practice at the University of Maryland School of Nursing.
